Vaccination

Prevention is the best medicine. Vaccinations are very important and protect your pet against infectious and potentially fatal diseases. We will tailor make a vaccination and parasite control program for your pet, depending on his/her lifestyle. We stock a range of parasite control products including Frontline, Advantix, Sentinel and Revolution and will select the most appropriate treatment to suit your pet.

Dogs

Our vaccines protect against several diseases including Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parainfluenza Virus and Bordetella (Kennel Cough).

Puppy vaccinations can commence as young as 6 weeks of age. If your puppy is older we are able to commence a vaccination/ immunisation schedule anytime during puppy hood. However, so your puppy can safely socialise with other dogs and go for walks outside we aim to achieve full immunity by 12 weeks of age.

Because the immunity gained from these initial vaccinations weakens over time, we recommend booster vaccinations to provide the best protection throughout the life of your dog. Annual or 3-year courses are available.

Our vets will tailor your vaccination program to suit your dog’s lifestyle. Call us to book a consultation.

Cats

Cats are vaccinated against Feline Enteritis, Feline Respiratory Disease (Cat Flu), Feline Chlamydia and FIV Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.

The recommended vaccination schedule for kittens starts at 6-8 weeks of age and should be complete by 14-16 weeks of age. One week after the last booster your kitten can go outside and socialise with other cats.

Because the immunity gained from these initial vaccinations weakens over time, we recommend annual booster vaccinations to provide the best protection throughout the life of your cat.
